Anarchy Game Studio is a Seattle-based father-son team that makes tabletop boardgames that spark conversation and inspire creativity: anarchygamestudio.com I am Michael. Co-designer of Finspan. Once wrote and published comics. Adoptee. Neurodivergent.
They do.
11.08.2025 00:16 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah. I kind of feel these should have been included. I know Jamey wanted to keep the cost down (on an already expensive game), but they feel essential to me to having the best experience.

10.08.2025 21:16 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I think the idea is to try to pull in new blood, which is fine. But I, child of the 70s who bought the magazine explaining how the was original was made and played the arcade game and Tron: Deadly Discs more than he should have, felt no desire to see it.
10.08.2025 21:13 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Ha! Fair enough.
10.08.2025 21:07 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Do you and your play group play a lot of modern board games?
10.08.2025 16:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I don’t know any strangers who have tried to play this. How did it go?
10.08.2025 16:25 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Maybe because people are on their best behavior?
10.08.2025 01:17 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It’s a cool experience, I think. It’s more like a toy than a regular co-op game. It just says “play with me.” Then, when you’ve had enough, you can end the game, typically by a few different means.
09.08.2025 23:43 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0You can blame me. I convinced you to buy it, right?
09.08.2025 23:35 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0They aren’t making a movie for us. I’m curious who they think has nostalgia for the IP.
09.08.2025 04:08 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Close enough, I guess.
09.08.2025 04:05 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Why do we even need educated people, when the PHDs in our pockets can tell us what to do?
09.08.2025 04:03 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Maybe a monocle?
09.08.2025 02:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0LinkedIn is just godawful. No one feels the way that people pretend to feel on there.
It’s like that Twilight Zone episode where the kid sends people away to the corn field.
How’d you get all that stuff home?
08.08.2025 16:24 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The one that I honestly don’t get is Sitting Bull. There are plenty of photographs and illustrations of him, even a Warhol (based on a photograph). Does Rubin not have access to Wikipedia? Did he not realize that there was a real person named that and so didn’t bother to look?
08.08.2025 14:14 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Fixed it!
08.08.2025 13:53 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I agree. I think my mind is trying to reverse engineer how this very specific reference to an actual historical figure popped up in this bizarre context. But I guess it doesn't matter.
07.08.2025 23:29 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Maybe they had planned to change the name to something like “Standing Bull” or “Crazy Bull,” then forgot? Still gross, but in a 70s Mad Magazine kind of way.
That’s the best explanation I have.
There are so many photos and illustrations of Sitting Bull available. Honestly, I'm guessing AI would have done a better job.
We have marine biologists review the drawings of fish on each card in Finspan. FISH.
And they didn't need an expert in this case, just someone with access to Wikipedia.
Not just generic racism (in this case). Sitting Bull was a real person and inarguably one of the greatest leaders of the past couple centuries. It’s hard to imagine a modern publication portraying a caricature with that name in such a careless, thoughtless way.
07.08.2025 22:08 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0For sure.
07.08.2025 17:06 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I saw these! I may get some for my son who likes cute things.
07.08.2025 17:01 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0You had a great looking booth!
07.08.2025 16:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Gross.
07.08.2025 15:18 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Sure. I couldn’t sleep. It was a nice distraction.
Rules are hard. I partly invalided our most recent unguided playtest because I left a bullet point in that should have been removed.
I would number the spark exchanges at 3. They just go either way.
Making the exchange icon card shaped is confusing. It implies exchanging cards.
Bold each instance of Research, Discover, and Showcase.
The action sequence is confusing. Recommend you show a card and walk through it.
The “reminders” are not. They tell us things that haven’t yet been stated: what paying actually means, which actions are optional, etc.

Similar with “face up.”
I recommend numbers by the corresponding items described in setup.
“The remaining 5 cards” for step 4.
Remove bold for “market.” Or do just bold and bold everything that you have underlined.
