Last post reminded me of a couple of years ago being sat in a bar in Broadstairs and having the jumpscare of seeing said TERF columnist suddenly emerge from one of the flats across the road (I assume she lived there).

Whenever a certain TERF columnist pops up I recall hearing of a Christmas she spent with her daughters *begging* her to stop discussing trans people and speculating about a trans journalist’s medical history. A complete loser with no life!!!

I don’t know what it says about me but the end of that film has me in *floods*.

Ah yes - the tunnel that the main line still goes through. The loop to the Ivanhoe branched off just past the south portal and ran through what’s now the far end of Euston St. The brilliant Railmaponline.com shows the exact path.

The loop itself had a name which completely escapes me now…

On mine and Laura’s first date we spoke almost exclusively about the reinstatement of the Ivanhoe line and what was needed to make it happen (she instigated the conversation btw).

Was there a tunnel under Freeman’s Common? I was under the impression it was just a curve of track that was taken up and sat where Screwfix and the police station now stands?

Must admit I do sort-of like the odd bit of Brown’s solo stuff because it’s a bit *weird*, in an almost self parody way, and I find that quite charming. But I wouldn’t go as far to call myself a fan of it. Obvs he’s an absolute fucking wally.

Once saw this Facebook comment that listed “proper English food” and it’s lived rent free in my head ever since. The least appetising thing I’ve ever read.

Obvs Dyer is great in it but he always is. The National Anthem and Bill Hicks bits are aggressively naff, and the whole thing feels like one of those films where they clearly had fun making it but it weirdly doesn’t feel fun to watch. Like an “ooh DRUGS!” version of the 2000s St Trinians films.

Possibly my least favourite film of all time.

Cyber Baroque chamber orchestra RONDO VENIZIANO's incredible animated video, 'La Serenissima', would often pop up unannounced on afternoon telly in the early 80s. Here they are performing live on Kafka-esque gameshow 3-2-1, and it's an amazing sight to see (and hear)!

It's actually impressive how we've got to a point where, because FT is for capitalists who want to make money, it's actually more factual than normal papers which support capitalist ideology
