The cat pushes past my bedroom door which is only ever open when I am both in it and awake and then acts surprised to find me inside and awake

I started with and liked TOS too and yeah I had a lot of trouble with the first two seasons of TNG. I liked Measure of a Man well enough but Iโ€™m not sure if I would have if I hadnโ€™t already made myself watch a full season and learned to actually care about what happened to Data

One way people in more urban areas differ from those in the sticks is this constant DoorDash debate.

Cooking every day is a goddamn drag even when you like cooking. But having the option NOT to cook is a luxury.

DoorDash doesnโ€™t exist here. You can go get takeout. Not even pizza is delivered.

Harris's campaign used one of his tweets for marketing and he flipped his shit because she didn't agree with him on every position. and then, you know, we lost the election

Sorry for being nosy but Iโ€™m in a pretty quiet airport. a woman sat down next to a much older pilot here in the food court and started very obviously flirting with him but he absolutely cannot stop listing off aviation facts to her regardless of whatever question she asks him

These days the only cases where I notice people talk like this is certain mobile games. Like my friend and I can compare how far along we are in something like Two Dots by just a number. Modern โ€œrealโ€ video games are usually more fluid and the numbers either arenโ€™t present or theyโ€™re obscured

I'm starting to think the Trumpist mastery of propaganda is failing them. The DHS agents posing this way makes it look like they're ashamed of themselves.

ICE activity has not noticeably tapered off yet here and in fact this week they seem to be focused on terrorizing kids at bus stops and schools.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

Gotchaโ€”letโ€™s dig into that step by step.

1. ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. Youโ€™re not just immobileโ€”youโ€™re immortal, and you feel only anguish.

2. ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ. That makes total senseโ€”itโ€™s a natural human impulse, and youโ€™ve been through a lot.

From Senator Chris McDaniel: โ€œLately, some folks have taken to calling ICE โ€œthe Gestapo.โ€ It sounds fierce. It feels righteous. But it isnโ€™t true, and it isnโ€™t harmless.

The Gestapo was a secret police force. No warrants. No courts. No lawyers. And no appeals. People vanished in the night, not because they broke the law, but because the law no longer meant anything. The knock on the door was the sentence.

ICE isnโ€™t that. Not even close.

ICE is a public agency enforcing laws passed by elected officials. Its agents file reports. They seek warrants. They lose cases. Judges stop them. Lawyers challenge them. Some detainees go home. Thatโ€™s not tyranny. Thatโ€™s bureaucracy, for better and worse.

You can hate immigration policy. You can argue enforcement is too harsh, too sloppy, or too broad. You can work to have the law changed if you wish. Thatโ€™s a republic doing what itโ€™s supposed to do.

But when you call ordinary law enforcement โ€œthe Gestapo,โ€ you cheapen real evil. You turn history into a slogan and suffering into a metaphor. And once every badge is tyranny, no tyranny is left to recognize.

In Mississippi, I was raised to believe words should earn their weight. This one hasn't yet. It throws around the language of dictatorship while living under a system where courts still rule, lawyers still argue, and the government still loses.

That difference matters.

Because the day enforcement becomes secret, unchecked, and answerable to no one, we wonโ€™t need to borrow names from history. Weโ€™ll know exactly what weโ€™re dealing with.

And weโ€™ll wish weโ€™d kept our words honest.โ€

So she had a pulse. Thatโ€™s what the doctor on the scene wanted to check. She wasnโ€™t breathing, but she had a pulse. He could have started CPR right away.

Instead ICE barred the doctor from attending her and waited 15 mins for EMT to get to her.
