GASP my tiny blogging room

I got my own DVD set of this as a gift not too terribly long after a previous viewing, so I didn't open this new set up 'til just recently to give it another go. Boy, this show just grabs you.

There’s a million panels of Spidey web-swinging but this one is gorgeous.

Um...poking her in the bottom with his briefcase and she thinks that it may have been something else? Seems a little rude for a Superman film if that's the case.

About 15 years ago or thereabouts, I used to throw my back out on a regular basis. It's been a lot better since then, either from being more careful or just generally being healthier (though I still have the occasional painful moment).

I do have a dolly (the cart, not, like, Raggedy Ann) so there's that!

I *think* I may still have a GHOST/BATGIRL collection floating around the shop!

I'm going to have to haul around a bunch of boxes from the store's back room for an event soon-ish (if, um, doctors allow it) and I'm not looking forward to how my back is going to respond.

It's like my old observation...when I started, "Grandpa's comic collection" meant Golden Age books. Now it means SPAWN.

Particularly given the efforts of some current publishers trying to evoke the '80s feel in some of their titles.

I mean, that's kind of what I was saying. It's just they don't SEEM old given their relative commonality and condition. Like, a 40-year-old comic when I started in retail was from the 1940s, and those FELT old and different '80s comics may be old, but they still feel of a piece with modern books.

Oh, it's delightful. Had a visceral reaction to seeing Robin hoist a gun at someone!

I do wonder percentage-wise how many more collections were maintained and preserved then versus the '80s/'90s. I mean, I *know* more kids just tossed the comics when they were done back then, but I wish I had exact stats as to how much was actually saved.

I mean, I do have a store with bargain bins, Im' just not ready to toss 90% of my Superman collection in there yet.

Like, "definitely sell the Comic Reader collection for MAXIMUM PRICES" and "that HOUSE OF SECRETS #92 -- look, just bury that with me, okay?"

I have to look up the timing...I don't remember who was first out of the gate with the "intelligent super-baby" plot twist: MIRACLEMAN or Byrne's STAR BRAND.

I'm trying to work on a list for my personal collection that's all "here's the good stuff" and "here's the stuff you can toss."

Oh, certainly, I was agreeing with you. I was just trying to make clear that I thought CGW may have been a victim of bad timing overall, the creators still did good work there.
