The ‘they’ are wealthy and powerful elites- they want aging boomers to die ASAP. Once you’re no longer generating wealth for them they want you gone. Boomers used to be useful as a reliably selfish conservative voters, but now that democracy is done they serve little purpose for the elite.

Appreciate the TL:DR- he’s a danger that tabs should be kept on, but I refuse to waste any more time/life reading about him than is absolutely necessary..

There is not one marginalized, racialized, or oppressed group whose oppression or destruction is an acceptable cost for saving "democracy." Not one.

If saving democracy requires leaving marginalized people behind, that's not a democracy worth saving.

Either we all get saved or none of us do.

And it’s all just “ha ha, yuk yuk, that’s just Trump being Trump!” The media will treat it as just another novelty story.
