That is beautiful, I love so much about architecture that's associated with railways, not so much about the current architecture being employed in the UK, but that picture is great.

Agile delivery manager in UK government. Navigating the murky journey of improving agility in an at times overwhelming non agile environment. Love #NUFC, England, #Lego, architecture, want better streets for people, bored of rain.

10.01.2025 08:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi, whereabouts was that taken? I'm in Manchester but can't think where it is.
10.01.2025 08:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sold him for Amad. Now with him and Fernandes I've ended up with two Man U players in my team. Not a good idea I suspect
21.12.2024 22:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nicely called out. Footballers often get a bad press, but he has made a real difference. Good on him. (nufc fan here)
18.12.2024 11:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Has echos of a portal or gateway to another world. Love it.
11.12.2024 10:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for super summary and a ton of useful reading material, that's my morning sorted.
10.12.2024 08:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read this message and thought to myself, "I don't remember writing this" π
100% agree with what you've written, our process and mindset can often be at complete odds with small incremental delivery.
It's cold, wet and a December Monday morning in Manchester. Makes me want to go back to Lisbon and see the sun.
09.12.2024 08:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can't sell him to Arsenal in Jan. We should go and buy Saka instead.
05.12.2024 10:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That was some hit. Kudos to Hall for starting it by not panicking and losing his man under pressure. Hall is growing each game.
05.12.2024 09:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0History: These iconic green huts were built in the Victorian era to offer shelter and refreshment to horse-drawn cab drivers. Purpose: The shelters provided a place for cabbies to rest, eat, and drink (non-alcoholic) while waiting for fares. Today: Only 13 of the original 61 shelters remain, all of which are Grade II listed buildings. Russell Square Shelter: This particular shelter, located in Russell Square, is one of the surviving ones and is known for its charming flower baskets. Access: While only cab drivers are allowed inside, the public can purchase food and drinks through a hatch.
On the walk back from Westminster to Euston I saw this Victorian taxi drivers cafe / shelter, been past it a few times but never stopped to take a photo. I think there are 13 remaining in London, I should probably collect them all now I've started

One Great George Street, Westminster. Just an amazing Grade 2 listed Edwardian building for the conference I'm at. I've walked past this place for the past few years and always wanted to see inside. Mission accomplished. #architecture #photography

Hair.

Two classic design icons standing next to each other, one sadly in quite a state of disrepair. But both still beautiful. #architecture #design

03.12.2024 11:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'd like to join in but I'm not a fan of any music. Given the choice between listening to music or silence I'm more comfortable with silence. I'm trying to work out how odd that makes me. (though if the choice was music or something else I'd choose listening to sports commentary)
29.11.2024 15:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do it. You won't regret it.
26.11.2024 15:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you'd have said Tunnock's caramel wafers then I'd be right with you. But I'm not here to judge.
(apart from I guess I actually am here to judge)
Here's the view from one of the buildings in your shot.
24.11.2024 22:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I read that book when I was a developer many years ago and I think it was the single most important chunk of learning I did as a dev. Man I still remember the actual joy of reading about and then implementing the NullObject pattern.

Dog bored waiting for I'm a celebrity to start. I only watch it because he likes it. Definitely.
24.11.2024 20:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0May I say I hate rain. And also flat roofs.
And I hate even more the combination of rain and flat roofs.
Though on a plus note the water pouring into the dining room did make a lovely sound.
Walker's pace has dropped a notch recently.
23.11.2024 19:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have a similar ability when choosing my fantasy team. Uncanny how I can get it so wrong.
23.11.2024 18:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wet in #Ramsbottom today. Now the proud owner of a small waterfall and a new stream. (or brook?)

23.11.2024 14:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just listened to a very eloquent honest discussion on #5live with Joe Hart talking about his experiences in football and not relying on others to carry out their promises and how to adjust your mindset to deal with it. Didn't know Joe could speak so well. Worth a little listen.
