I have wanted to stop into a few places and ask: which reason is it that your flag is at half-staff?

We keep saying over and over that "every accusation is a confession," but keep finding new ways this is true. I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but it still does shock me how deep it goes.

I will say that, using screen to print as a guideline: generally the only colors that cannot be as vibrant after this transition are saturated greens and purples. But that's based on what a CMYK printer can do, not what the physical world can do.

This is an interesting experiment. As a graphic artist, I couldn't do it, but I'm curious what you'll find.

I don't think people realize how insidious and evil the AI industry is. They are literally trying to get teachers hooked on their product, and sell it to our children in turn. It's like if you blended an MLM, a drug cartel, and Lex Luthor into one apocalyptic cultural mega-ruination system

My partner, an employee at a small public school, had a mandatory AI seminar recently. Some goon got up in front of all of the staff and basically gave them an extended sales pitch for how to rely more strongly on AI in their work, and how to encourage our children to rely on it too.

I feel like a broken record after commenting about this on another doc post, but: Playdate. It's the size of my wallet; I can literally just throw it in my pocket whenever I leave the house, and it has a great, growing game library.

I agree 100% that it perhaps puts an expiration date on your work. It takes more effort to keep these things intact into the future.

But things will decay regardless. As a physical-media artist and musician, I believe that we MUST also live in the moment and accept some things to be temporary.

The sort of untethered innovation and inspiration that comes out of working with custom/unique hardware is something I hold dear.

Recently I designed and 3D printed a custom Steam Controller stand so that I could play Groove Coaster at home. It was an extremely interesting and satisfying process!

I got a Playdate a few months ago and it's been a stellar experience.

One of my favorite arcade games is Black Emperor.

I adore music/rhythm games and all their weird control schemes.

I absolutely love what comes out of designing for unique hardware. It's some of the most innovative work imho.
