As such I've been disgusted to hear about Illinois hospitals capitulating to these hateful, illegal, and unconstitutional executive orders and cutting trans healthcare for patients under age 19. UIHealth, UChicago Medicine, Rush University Medical Center and Lurie Children's Hospital have all stopped offering trans surgical care to minors, and Rush, UChicago Medicine, and Advocate Health Care have stopped providing trans medication care to patients under 18. You have spoken eloquently and forcefully about your support for health care policies that respect the dignity and rights of all people, about the necessity of lifesaving medical treatment that supports individuals in living as their authentic selves. Please enforce the IHRA per the guidance of the Illinois Department of Human Rights and compel these hospitals to restore the trans healthcare they have rescinded. Very truly yours, Harold Jaffe
