The Supreme Court’s majority right wing indicated in oral arguments that they think racism is over on the same day that the vice president defended the “I love Hitler” guy, and that the NYT reported that the current administration plans to accept only white, English-speaking refugees.

Like I don't know how you live through the last 10 months and not come to the conclusion that government by open unapologetic racists is significantly worse than government by people equally as racist who still feel the need to hide it. This has been so much worse than even the first Trump term.

They must be from a different supplier than the Portland frog's costume, though. Bystanders describe the costumes as more like fish-frogs, "batrachian," with an odd, loping gait.

My mildly unhinged take is that this is true for many of the classics, but too many people assume it's true for all the classics and miss out on some of the timeless greatness contained within. And you won't know which ones unless you give them a try.

Go ahead and love your YA/trashy genre fiction of your choice, but if it's all you read you're gonna miss out on a lot. Challenging books work your brain and your empathy in a lot of different and better ways.

Our kids get so much candy compared to what I used to get. They made the fun size smaller than when we were young, but every house now gives out handfuls instead of a single bar.

So I grew up in the twin cities, and visit regularly because it rules and I have tons of friends and family there, and the food scene has made massive strides, but it’s not winning a food contest with Portland unless we are talking exclusively about ethiopian and/or Somali food.
