Yeah I see it as bad for art as Sheridan will get even more green lights! Not the worst slop or politics out there and I don't put too much faith in those corporations anyway, but probably blander type of bad than people will imagine

Post late stage capitalism, but still definitely capitalism

It's sensible and moderate on there to temper reactions to all the communications released because it objectively was not the stuff of the median accounts predicting on there

Also that the extreme Epstein accusations are the norm for what people think occurred around him. Bizarre to see it as normalized that the latest revelations aren't that big of a deal, cause in that environment they did not confirm the most lurid accusations of blackmail rings etc.

Shocking he still supports ecks as the place to be ...

True to who I am at least cause I still am sappy and depressed 20 years later with the engineering degree I ended up getting

I mean a pretty good experience for them to have honestly all things considered!! But none of this shit should matter too much for anything that important. I wrote a sappy existentialist essay cause I was depressed in highschool, reading a lot of Palahniuk at the time.

And someone with Durbins record in bib leadership role is fine big picture. But want an actual leader to potentially emerge from a safe blue state but none of them are that inspiring

That's fair. I guess my perspective is the meh candidates to my mind are getting appropriately little attention compared to other races. I'm voting Stratton but she has mostly run just the same anti trump ads as Raja for most of the campaign. So I see that poll and am not shocked

I'm voting for Stratton but don't have that strong of opinion on it either

Durbin despite some head scratchers in recent years as not a fighter was never that bad compared to the caucus in general over the same decades. Fair to want better, I do as well! But why it really doesn't trigger the same attention. Was a decent liberal for many issues over the years

26.02.2026 00:05 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

None are wildly popular or polarizing to be honest. My dad actually one of the few people I know who watched their debate and was basically meh on them all as an aging normie lib. Stratton and Krishnamoorthi both run identical anti trump ads with Raja just throwing in more half baked ideas into his

In the US they don't pretend much other than the moral side of cracking down in the poor

25.02.2026 20:36 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Oh and because I'm coming from the US context, I'm not pretending people really care about this for actual macroeconomic reasons like the need to squeeze a bit more out of prime age working employment percentage society at large. In theory public health to productivity will have real interfaces

25.02.2026 20:35 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Technology to improve admin I guess technically plausible, but like invest in better care or efficiencies across the board then if you are a compassionate center left government if you are a believer in the tech side

25.02.2026 20:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's not that novel or dystopian sadly, pushing work requirements for Medicaid has been done in states here in the US. I think results are mostly ballooning admin costs and reduction in services to both qualifying and non-qualifying adults under ability to work definitions setup

I don't remember most of the plot points of Clones either. But I guess they invented stormtroopers still stands out and is important enough for the purpose of the film

But anyway, per OP we have some great community colleges in Chicago area that are reasonable for exactly that. No expert but probably highly dependent on local funding for other areas of country I'm guessing. I'm fine my suburban taxes are high but part goes to this

I thought that was a picture of Starmer at first trying to reinvent himself, which I guess good for self actualization but probably should try and stick to his current thing a little more

15.02.2026 17:22 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Oh ok, I took it as a critical part of helping the poorest as you stated, which may not be the top use of tax dollars for the most destitute. All for more redistribution in general though

11.02.2026 23:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Exactly, people who have a place to get to to work or do something, are probably not the poorest of a city. That's also kind of the rationale why kids and seniors often don't have to pay as much, which is a simple way to bracket off what is affordable for working poor vs them.
