At SFGH for a candlelight vigil and memorial for Alberto Rangel, the social worker who was killed this week. This was predictable and preventable. It was a failure of systems and could have been any of the thousands of committed workers across DPH. We are all heartbroken.

I am highly entertained by the ass-showed of YIMBY-endorsed politicians opposing new housing in a rich neighborhood. The voter base of moderates was always rich NIMBYs, who were perfectly happy to use NIMBY as a cudgel against anti-gentrification activism while preserving rich enclaves.

It also suffers from the problem of "there was a big conspiracy and coverup and everyone was in on it." I live in San Francisco. We have a problem of urban greed and corruption, but it is very stupid and the people involved are bad at it. I WISH our corruption was that clever.
