My position is that when it gets replaced, someone should be able to put a quadplex in its place that would be the same size as the single family home that you can generally build by right

Why spend the money on paper mailers people will throw away instead?

24.07.2025 18:57 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Tom Wieder 21h Β· River Ridge Mark I think you miss the point. There was no promise to βfund the park,β (i.e. totally pay for it). They only said that private fundraising would be one of multiple sources of funding. The Yes folks are suggesting that the electorate was duped into voting for the park in 2018, because they relied on a promise to pay for it. But, even if a promise had been made, if you never heard such a promise, if you didnβt rely on such a promise, you canβt say that you were duped in voting a certain way. How many of the 27,000 people who voted for the proposal even heard what was said at the forum, yet alone relied on anything said there?
#A2Council I just don't think it's a very compelling argument to say that even if there was a promise that the library lot park would be privately funded, voters aren't civically engaged enough to know that happened

Even a generic park bench or picnic table and umbrellas are expensive. Just adding a couple of these can easily cost over 10s of thousands of dollars, and just those things would make for a terrible park!
