There is an economic need for air travel. Nobody has figured out the economic need for space travel beyond tourists wanting to say they went to space. While some research activity is helped by skilled astronauts, almost all economic activity can be automated.

Public enforcement has needed reformation, and gone through some efforts of reformation since its inception. It is an inherently problematic endeavor to give members of society the power of incarceration and violence over others. Much much work is needed. I don’t have ready solution.

On a deadly serious note, the President cannot rely on external, private sources to fund spending as an end-run around Congress’ constitutional power of the purse. If he can, we no longer have a republic.
