I was lucky enough to be at the game last night, and while it was wrenching, it was wonderful. It was the perfect story with the wrong ending, but I'm glad I got to be--we all got to be--a little part of it.

I’d have liked that season more if the Jays had won that game, sure. But kind of in the same way that I’d have liked a filet mignon more if it had one more bite. It was still pretty fucking good!

They had several chances to win, including that bases loaded situation early in the game.

FWIW, what I loved about this season was that the team was really a *team*--a group of players who loved each other and picked each other up. I wanted the win for them more than for myself or the fans.

I’m glad for Los Angeles the city, who have been through so much.

I have nothing against the Dodgers as a team. I’m a big fan of Ohtani, Freeman, Yamamoto.

But I’ve never wanted a group of men on a team to win as much as this group of Blue Jays players.
