This picture is so crazy that if you had this as a scene in a made-for-TV dystopian scifi movie in like 2014 people would switch channels because you’d ruined the suspension of disbelief.

In December I watched a presentation by a law professor and former Tech executive who made a strong case that these tools cannot remain anywhere near as affordable as they are now, and thus building them into your workflow is a dangerous game.

AI firms’ inability to make money has *everything* to do with why I don’t use AI. As a white-collar worker with ADHD, I can’t let myself get addicted to any tools that (allegedly) make my work more efficient but may become unavailable or too expensive to use in the future. That way lies madness.

It’s impossible to find skeets I saw earlier when you’re all just tiny pictures to me and I can’t remember anyone’s names.

Stop anthropomorphizing the word prediction algorithm. It is synthesizing things humans previously said to predict what a human would say in a given situation. It is not thinking. Any meaning behind its words is imposed from without by human users, not generated from within like human thought.
