β€œI Have Been Here Too Long”: Read Letters from the Children Detained at ICE’s Dilley Facility Hundreds of children are currently being held with their parents at an immigration detention center in Dilley, Texas. In letters and drawings, eight kids convey the pain of feeling trapped with no end...

ProPublica received eight handwritten letters from children who have been held at the detention center that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was recently released from.

We'll let their words speak for themselves.

It's notable that there's a Christian Nationalist J6er running for Governor of Oregon (with the blessing of MAGA influencer Benny Johnson) on a "Jesus Joy" platform when 75% of Oregonians are NOT evangelicals. It's one of the least religious states in the country. Burn that money.

It’s good for elected officials to rescue individual people who have made headlines.

But people need to consider why they aren’t spending time actually fixing the underlying problems given that’s their primary job.

Ethnic Cleansing in Ohio? Nazi Lies in Vance's America

In Springfield, Ohio, people are preparing in advance of a β€œlarge deportation” promised by the president. To all appearances, the city is 2 or 3 days from a federal ethnic cleansing, grounded in a hate campaign organized by the vice-president and American Nazis.

Per TD Cowen’s January 26 2026 Data Center Channel Checks note, emphases mine:

However, with Oracle to procure what our channel checks now indicate is ~3MM GPUs (and other IT gear) to support its existing OpenAl agreement, both equity and debt investors have raised questions regarding Oracle's ability to finance this buildout, as demonstrated by widening of Oracle's CDS spreads and pressure on Oracle's stock/bonds. Assuming a conservative $30MM/MW in IT fit out costs, the implied -$156B capex requirement, coupled with separate questions on OpenAl's ability to fund its =$1.4T in outstanding multi-year commitments, has led to multiple U.S. banks to pull back from lending to Oracle-linked data center projects. Furthermore, our channel checks indicate that multiple Oracle data center leases that were under negotiation with private operators struggled to secure financing, in turn preventing Oracle from securing the data center capacity via a lease. In cases where U.S. banks are still open to lending, our checks indicate that borrowing cost spreads for Oracle-linked data center projects have widened to Non-IG levels (i.e. now SOFR+300-450bps vs. SOFR+225-250bps in September). As the borrowing costs for operators rise, the result has been a slowdown in +100MW U.S. Oracle data center leasing by private operators as the market digests the current Oracle financing requirements. Importantly, our channel checks indicate that banks in Asia are still willing to lend (at a slight premium relative to historical rates) to data center operators undertaking Oracle leases as these banks look to gain exposure to the Al sector, providing a path for international Oracle expansion in support of incremental RPO. However, the pullback in U.S. financing has raised questions regarding Oracle's ability [to] continue growing its revenue (RPO) in the U.S. if it continues facing challenges securing U.S. data center capacity to support OCI customer contracts.
To explain in simpler terms:

TD Cowen also added some ways in which Oracle could work this out, including the (fucking stupid) idea for leasing GPUs:

Amidst this capital requirement, our channel checks indicate that Oracle is now requiring 40% upfront customer deposits as it looks to mitigate the incremental capex requirement for incremental revenue (RPO) growth. Furthermore, our channel checks indicate that Oracle is evaluating multiple paths forward to address financing questions including: 1) a RIF of 20-30K employees which could drive -$8-10B of incremental free cash flow, 2) asset divestitures (potentially Cerner) which would allow Oracle to reduce its debt load, 3) vendor financing (structure is currently unclear), and 4) Bring Your Own Chip (BYOC) which was highlighted as a potential on Oracle's latest earnings call. Based on our channel checks and understanding of the situation, our current sense is that some combination of BYOC and a RIF are the most likely paths forward, with the BYOC alleviating capex concerns.
So, let’s assume that Oracle gets roughly $10 billion in cash from those layoffs. Fine. Okay. That’s…barely anything compared to how much it needs.

How much could it reasonably fetch for Cerner? Remember, that $28 billion deal closed in the ultra-frothy acquisition market of 2021 and 2022, at a time when money was far easier to raise and valuations were going through the roof. Even if Oracle managed to get a massive premium β€” $35 billion to $40 billion β€” this would barely cover a quarter of the costs of the data centers it currently has.

To make matters worse, TD Cowen adds that Oracle’s β€œ...financing struggles have led to a deceleration in incremental data center procurement.”

It needs the god-damn data centers to be finished so it can pay the god damn debt.

US lenders are now hesitant to back further Stargate data centers, and even asian banks are (per TD Cowen) raising the rates for these loans. This is slowing down the construction of the data centers that Oracle needs to make the revenue to pay its debts.
