This event is a reminder of the unwavering commitment our service members make every day, and I deeply appreciate the chance to thank them in person.

I shared why representation matters and how policy can be a tool for justice. Grateful to be part of a discussion that’s shaping the next generation of leaders.

I had the opportunity to speak on the Pathways to Public Leadership Panel today. It was a powerful space to reflect on my path to the Assembly and the work still ahead. Public service is about impact, access, and accountability.

AB 829 was signed into law on August 28, creating the California Parkinson’s Disease Research Fund and a voluntary tax check off for Parkinson’s research. Proud to work alongside The Michael J. Fox Foundation to help move Parkinson’s research forward. 🧡

I was proud to help secure $15 million in Title X funding to protect access to reproductive healthcare, but the fight is far from over.

On Women’s Equality Day, we cannot ignore what’s happening in our state. The One Big Beautiful Bill goes beyond blocking abortion funding. It cuts off Medicaid support for clinics that provide essential care like cancer screenings, birth control, and prenatal services.

• Strong currents and hazardous conditions are expected along beaches and coastal waters.

• Do NOT go to the coast to watch the tsunami.
• Follow guidance from local officials and emergency alerts.

A magnitude 8.7 earthquake off the coast of Russia’s Kamchatka and the Aleutian Islands has triggered a tsunami advisory for the San Diego coastline.

🌊 Coastal impacts could begin around 1:15 AM in areas including La Jolla and Oceanside.

🎉 I am so excited to share that my first bill is now law! When I took office nearly eight months ago, I promised to fight for our kids. Today that promise became a reality with AB 927 signed into law.
 
This is a big moment and a real step forward for students across California.

Juneteenth calls us to do more than remember. It calls us to confront what remains and to make freedom real for everyone.

159 years after the last enslaved people were told they were free, we are reminded that freedom is not a finish line. It is a constant demand.
Juneteenth is a celebration of liberation. It is also a reminder that justice can be delayed for generations when systems choose to look away.

Excited to share that key bills from my Working for Families package have passed the Assembly and are now on their way to the Senate. From equity and education to safety and economic opportunity, these bills reflect our community’s values and our shared future.

The right to peaceful protest is not a privilege. It is a protected freedom. No one should be arrested for standing up for their community.
