Maybe one real piece of evidence that the Trump regime does not plan on leaving in 2028 is that their arguments about nationwide injunctions in front of the Supreme Court- if adopted by the conservative majority- really could bite Republicans in the ass if we ever get a Democratic president again.

That’s the entire factual basis in the affidavit? Wow. They are equal parts incompetent, arrogant, and contemptuous of even going through the motions of providing an adequate basis for prosecution.

If you look at countries like Turkey, it’s pretty common for people to struggle with that in the beginning of an authoritarian regime. I’m pretty eyes wide open, and I can fall prey to it. But lecturing those people or calling them lazy is not going to engage them..

I think so. It’s been three months, and there’s a fair amount of opposition. It’s sporadic and sometimes not effective, but I see evidence of it everywhere. What I do think most Americans are suffering from is a profound cognitive dissonance (“it couldn’t happen here” “it isn’t that bad”).

Resistance and opposition are made up of tiny actions, multiplied across many individuals and communities and having a ripple effect. Maybe concentrate on encouraging those actions? This genre of shaming posts is lazy in and of itself- it’s just a cheap shot of smug superiority for the author.

“Continue to fight”? You didn’t fight. You kissed the ring of a fascist today, and you betrayed us all. You are a collaborator and an appeaser, and history will remember. He hasn’t tested our system of checks and balances - he has destroyed it, with YOUR help.
