I am not sure if this is something I should know too.

...oh you bitch
I was spoiled by the Career modes in HCTP. Having each year and career carry over all the stuff that happened before was a masterstroke. Having all my custom characters fighting over titles was amazing.
27.01.2026 14:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah, you're right there for sure.
I bought and downloaded 2K24, then bailed when I realised there was no real Career mode like the old THQ/Yuke's games. I honestly don't understand how WWE games appeal without a career mode.
I thought that was Billy Connolly
27.01.2026 12:04 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I came back into WWE for the Netflix era (and then stopped when Lesnar reared his horrible head, but that's another story), but I loved the Attitude Era. And Trips was.. well, he as there. But it really wasn't his era, not at all.
But honestly, he's the most available and reliable for them.
Because we're having a discussion about it? At least I thought we were. I'm sorry you didn't get the use out of your time that you wanted, but I didn't force you into this discussion.
26.01.2026 18:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Quite possibly. It will be interesting to see where it goes from there
26.01.2026 18:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0He also was then able to launder it into real world funds through an official process. You can't ignore that part of it.
And you can do the same with EVE, which is definitely worrying lol
Oh absolutely! There's a stronger case there, I would wager.
26.01.2026 18:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0My wording isn't a legal definition, that's what stops it. If you look at the specific case (and I presume that's what sets precedent here, not semantics) then it's clear what the specific case was seeking.
Where it goes from here? Hoo boy, who knows.
Well in the case above, I believe the defendant was able to use his position working for Jagex to take players gold and transfer it to his own account. So it's very much outside of any gameplay.
26.01.2026 18:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Also curious, are you British or from the US? "To table" something has opposing meanings either side of the pond.
26.01.2026 18:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm curious, which extraction shooters have that feature? I don't know the genre that well.
And to be fair, the fact they were stolen through nefarious means and not through gameplay is likely the clincher here.
Yeah, I suspect the fact there was an actual theft here is the clinching factor lol
26.01.2026 18:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Eve Online is a spaceship MMO that has a lot of emphasis on the player-driven economy and various heists between player corporations. It's not uncommon to hear of heists that are years in the making that steal hundreds of thousands in real money equivalent.
26.01.2026 18:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The article makes it pretty clear that there's an official way to convert RuneScape gold into real currency. Ergo, that seems to be the clinching reason why the gold has value - it has value because it's able to be converted to real money easily and officially.
26.01.2026 18:06 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0As I'm reading this, that wouldn't apply. The ruling only seemed to apply because the gold was able to be officially used to buy Bonds, which could then be sold for real world money. There's a clear line where the gold can be converted into real money.
