You can just smell it, and itโs been there since Christmas. Genuinely still shocked we didnโt make moves in January when it was this obvious.

10.02.2026 20:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Only people who donโt think spurs are getting relegated are the spurs players and Bluesky coys.
Everyone one of the 50k here tonight can see it and smell it. Iโm not even sure a change of manager saves us now.
Absolutely pissing down so a wet pitch is gonna make for an even more frantic contest in the middle.
10.02.2026 19:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Niche interest post - but the midfield battle tonight is gonna be interesting. Both team setup for 2nd and 3rd balls. Forward players positioned to drop in as well.
Going to be an arm wrestle and we need to win it.
Classic bad vibes fixture where Iโm pretty sure each manager would shake hands on a draw now and call off the whole thing to be honest.
Given how wet it is Iโm sure a load of the fans currently getting soaked on the way would agree.
On train to Spurs. Thereโs serious relegation chat going on. Someoneโs got a fixture predictor out! The fans are taking it seriously so letโs hope the players are focused on getting out of this mess tonight.
If we come out in a passive mid block again itโll get ugly and the crowd will turn quickly.
Think of the positives. A season in the championship will be great fun (probably) to report on next year.
10.02.2026 13:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Iโve read this argument so many times this weekend and itโs blowing my mind because it just isnโt true. Our average possession this season is 51%. We rank 10th for possession.
Football stylistically has changed to be about 2nd and 3rd balls, transition and man markingโฆbut itโs not unique to spurs!
Saw Rick Astley and Blossoms do an hour of Smiths covers in the John peel tent at Glastonbury in 2023โฆunironically the best thing I saw all weekend by a country mile. Legend.
08.02.2026 21:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Weโve got 51% possession this year vs 54% last. Weโre hardly Leicester city.
Thereโs issues with our system, but there were terrible transitional issues last year as well. Itโs not the reason for an individual losing his head yesterday.
100% this obviously. People reaching to defend players at all costs by talking about โsystemsโ just highlights how little the person understands about football tactics to be honest.
08.02.2026 16:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Passive low block is not an excuse for reckless tackling. Quite the opposite obviously.
Under Ange we were high and constantly under transitional pressure, which is much more likely to result in poorly timed, recovery challenges.
Yeah sorry I see now, I just completely disagreeโฆbut thatโs cool.
08.02.2026 11:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just cos Iโm genuinely interested now, at what point do you think itโs rational to raise the prospect of relegation?
08.02.2026 11:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Itโs not negative. Spurs are absolutely sleepwalking into it. They need to realise theyโre in a relegation battle, start talking about it regularly, and focus themselves. It should galvanise them.
Trust me, everyone in the crowd on Tuesday will be talking about relegation. You can smell it.
It really wonโt. 97-98 was one of my first seasons regularly going to spurs. It was only when it came to Feb / Mar and we genuinely looked like getting relegated that the players stepped up and the fans united.
As things stand spurs smell like a team heading for relegation. They need an alarm call.
Iโd totally counter this. One of the most obvious problems with everyone connected to the club - the owners, players, fans, act as if weโre too big to go down. These players are certainly not too good to go down.
Everyone needs to focus on digging in for winsโฆand quickly.
The players response to fan criticism has been poor. Almost united against the fans at times,
And I canโt believe he escaped criticism after the W Ham game. He was wandering around the half way line in the move which led to their winner. That 3 point swing could make all the difference in May.
Seems to be a thing now whereby players are immune from any criticism and owners/managers/refs are the cause every problem. Never the fault of players.
I donโt get it. Attitude amongst this group of players is selfish and entitled. The captain the biggest culprit.
He might be frustrated constantly, but in my eyes thatโs why heโs not leadership material. Heโs way too unfocused and sets a bad example for the rest.
My impression is that spurs focus on
Gallagher and Robertson was largely down to their concern at the lack of leadership and standards on the pitch
Maybe someone should have explained the financial impact of relegation to Lewisโ kids. I can only imagine theyโre oblivious to the concept.
07.02.2026 19:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Itโs definitely in his nature! Itโs just also seems like heโs lost his head over the last few months.
I still canโt believe he got away with so little criticism for his performance against West Ham. He was jogging around upfront when West Ham broke on us in the 94th and forced the winning corner.
I was so worried I filled out a fixture predictor - had us winning at home to palace, forest, Brighton, and Leeds, and still only staying up by 5 points. Thereโs really no room for slip ups. Iโm surprised the ownership feel so casual about it.
07.02.2026 19:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0But thatโs our style of play. Losing games is just an outcome.
I saw a thread making this argument and itโs insane. If anything our terrible defensive transition game last season was way more likely to exacerbate Romeroโs recklessness.
Over the last few months heโs just lost his head completely.
Okโฆbut I donโt understand how our mid block, which is pretty structured, exacerbates his reckless nature?
07.02.2026 18:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0How does Franks passive mid block mean Romero is going to make more reckless tackles?
The manager is doing a bad job but the reach from some here to absolve Romero of blame is off the scale.
Thereโs a thread going on somewhere else here that itโs Frankโs fault Romero got sent off today, and under Ange his discipline was loads better.
Seriously.
Same people who also spent last season saying our results from November onwards didnโt count cos we werenโt tryingโฆ pretty hard to get sent off when youโre not trying!
Frankโs doing a bad job, but letโs not re-litigate last seasons terrible PL performances.
And now the same people are spreading fake itk rumours that Frank overruled the medical team to play Udogie today.
Mass blocking of these podcast chancers going on today. Pure AFTV stuff to get clicks and listens these days.
The whole club has lacked standards and basic discipline for a couple of years. The managers mistake was making Romero captain (amongst zero other options) and not being able to turn around that carelessness that sticks to the club,
Itโll cost Frank is job, but hopefully some of the players too.
