Giving up 3.5 xG second half looks more like they parked a scooter than a bus.

Giving up 3.5 xG second half looks more like they parked a scooter than a bus.
22.11.2025 17:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hang on a minuteβ¦what the heck happened at half time here? Did West Ham get stuck in the changing room or something?
22.11.2025 17:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Any idea if porroβs substitution at half time for Spain today was injury related?
Couldnβt see any reason to take him off otherwise.
Iβve been playing about 12 hours so far, and Iβm βjustβ about getting used to it.
I hate the pop-up UI and how it looks in general, but Iβm sure Iβll get used to it.
But I canβt really forgive all the bugs, and just how much detail theyβve removed. The beauty of FM is the detail!
First Mikey Moore goal for Rangers!
Hopefully itβs onwards and upwards for him now Russell Martinβs gone.
I was less impressed by Oderbert than most (he was attacking my end so I got to see a lot of the off the ball detail)
Surely the missing context was that Amorim switched his defensive RWB for an attacking RWB in Diallo after 60 mins, at which point Oderbert obviously started having more joy.
We were low block from Frankfurt. Youβd be ok with TF playing a low block in the champions league then, but just not the league?
08.11.2025 18:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What I donβt understand about this latest spurs culture war is that we literally played like Greece 2004 to win the EL last season. The attacking football was getting us killed so we went deep block + time wasting from the 1/4s. Itβs not unique to Thomas Frank!
08.11.2025 18:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Err, ok. Whatβs described is not exclusive to Arsenal though is it? I wouldnβt listen to the AI on that.
Even spurs have built in a 3, with an advanced full back, deep midfielder and 2 more advanced. pretty much every team who plays 4 at the back has a variation of this as one of their build ups
I donβt mean to antagonise you on this, but surely you can see the 2 images are completely different? Theyβre showing different phases of the game?
08.11.2025 17:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Forgive me if Iβm sceptical that you watch every match but last week you shared a picture of FM26 claiming it was Arsenals build up structure!
Nothing happens in isolation and a combo of poor technical players and a seismic shift in football styles makes anyone playing good football difficult atm.
Iβd recommend watching other clubs. Youβll get a much deeper view of how different teams setup stylistically + how the whole EPL is mired in this horrible midfield attrition / risk adverse / dead ball default, and how theyβre all trying to adapt rapidly to the players theyβve got.
08.11.2025 16:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They were really attacking in the championship, but got to the EPL and had smallest budget in the division! They had a higher possession share last season than is relative to their budget. They scored 66 or so goals.
08.11.2025 16:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You could make an argument of Tel for RKM, but would that have changed much of our attacking?
You said he only liked physical players and dead balls, which is just not how Brentford played for lots of their time with TFβ¦plus theyβve always had the 19-20th budget. 9th is an incredible finish!
Itβs a bad faith argument βhe would have chosen that lineup anywayβ. But regardless of that I genuinely donβt know who these technical players are that should be on the pitch?
The EPL might be less about risk right now but Damsgaard / Eriksen / Canos would disagree about your assessment of TF.
I donβt think Richy ahead of Oderbert shows a lack of intent. Weβre obviously managing Udogieβs minutes.
The 3 you name played played 70-90 mins on Tuesday. Thereβs plenty to complain about, but trying to manage minutes of the remaining fit players isnβt one of them.
If the lineup was the issue today, who should have been playing? (And I do agree weβre bad/average)
08.11.2025 15:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I suspect he wonβt be the last Utd fan in the home end today. Doubt most will make it this obvious.
08.11.2025 11:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not only is there a crazy number of half and half scarfs todayβ¦thereβs someone wearing a Utd shirt in the north stand. Stewards look very panicked.
08.11.2025 11:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Canβt remember the last time spurs had a 12.30 home game?
Had to run back in and get my sunglasses. Imperative in the north stand for an early kick off on a clear day like today.
You just know var would disallow this goal today cos Harry Kane moves into Utds half before Dembele takes kick off.
07.11.2025 19:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Obviously canβt learn anything when the opposition is that bad and didnβt even press us when we were down to 10.
Hopefully lots of confidence for players who need it and a run for Xavi and Pape in the middle now.
Sitting in the ground and they wonβt show a replay of the red card. Looked like nothing from where I am. Ridiculous that people in the stadium canβt see whatβs happening.
04.11.2025 21:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thereβs movement, and skill, if not the end product from kolo so hopefully that comes.
I just canβt think of anything from oderbert, other than the AZ game, where I think βyeah heβs got a top level futureβ. Be nice if he can prove me wrong 2nd half.
First time a team hasnβt pressed us or filled the midfield since Burnley and it shows.
Sarr and Bentancur winning the ball back aggressivelyβ¦.shame the front 4 have all the intensity of a crab,
Simons couldnβt do much more. muani and oberbert continue to look like competition winners out there.
Spurs stadium dj back playing some absolute classics again.
Likely to be the best part of the night in fairness.
Nuno had a brilliant team of players available ( weβd kill for 2-3 of this team now) and it was clear 3 games/wins in that there was a problem.
This was our lineup against Chelsea. His tactics were bonkers, particularly against Arsenal, so it was difficult to be sad or disappointed he was sacked.
The coaches had obviously given Bentancur a bollocking at half time cos he came out trying to show for the ball at goal kicks, but it was pretty painful to watch (not necessarily Bentancurs fault when he then has to pass to other not technical players)
03.11.2025 22:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It says everything about Spurs recruitment that 5 windows after we moved on from mourinho / conte
style midfields, our squad has 1 progressive passer in it (and heβs out for the season).
Incredible process from spurs. Gonna be a long season.
Teams just canβt function without a top class centre mid. Spurs seem to undervalue centre mids (replacing Carrick with Zokara springs to mind). We let Modric go for way too little.
Iβm sure if spurs had been offered Kante or Caicedo before they came to EPL theyβd have turned their nose up at them.
