He’s going to laugh counting the billions he skimmed off the top of the $trillion+ his bullshit machine burned away. He won’t care.

I have long thought Tarantino to be our best film critic - but the medium for his critique is film, not print. I was not as taken by Cinema Speculation as I thought I would be - in writing, which has the cadence of his vocal patterns, he's too in love with the shock take. Remember his TOP GUN riffs?

"A few people have asked why I vehemently oppose Trump. Let me make this perfectly clear. It's not about politics. I've voted for both parties. It's about me, as a patriot, rejecting a cheating, lying, racist, treasonous, fascist, and vile man who attacks the free press, and wants to lead the country I love. It's really that simple.

Except Netflix rarely carries anything made before 1980

I think the main goal they have right now is weakening the unions. if you look at how Netflix does their few theatrical releases, it’s only ever for a week and on less than 1,000 screen. They don’t have to pay union residuals on that.

Chasing the Netflix model blew away 90% of the profits the industry made. It’s a parasite

Forty years ago, 90% of media outlets were spread across 50 companies.

Now, just 5 companies control 90% of the media market.

This consolidation hurts consumers and helps oligarchs. 🧵

I’m old enough to remember Karl Rove talking about the permanent Republican majority in 2004, due to gerrymandering…that last all the way to them being crushed in 2006

I feel like most people don’t know that TARP and the auto bailout were essentially paid back. I think most think those were just free tax payer money with no strings attached.

Which cannot happen with AI because it is a bottomless pit.

The world’s largest streaming company swallowing one of its biggest competitors is what antitrust laws were designed to prevent. The outcome would eliminate jobs, push down wages, worsen conditions for all entertainment workers, raise prices for consumers, and reduce the volume and diversity of content for all viewers. Industry workers along with the public are already impacted by only a few powerful companies maintaining tight control over what consumers can watch on television, on streaming, and in theaters. This merger must be blocked.

I laughed through most of The Godfather the first time because all of the references came flowing back into my head.

Consider that FIFA made this prize for Trump because they’re not confident they can rig the US team out of group

FIFA giving Trump a made up just for him “peace prize “ is not remotely close to the most corrupt thing they’ve done

Carry on!

The Lincoln Project @ProjectLincoln X.com

President Trump has now pardoned 12 members of Congress convicted of crimes varying from tax evasion, campaign corruption, lying to the FBI, bribery, insider trading, obstruction, etc.

If Jeff Epstein were alive today, he'd be a free man in Trump's America.

#Trump pardoned Tim Leiweke — who his own DOJ indicted in July for rigging a public university’s arena bid—

It’s all a grift — Saudis to crypto to pardon seekers — everything gets turned into a revenue stream. With 1,500+ pardons already, clemency is a monetized market

These are the type of people that could not tell you the difference between plot and story, and believe anything not said specifically in dialogue is ambiguous. Sigh…
