He also suffers from the mostly pointless comparisons to other QBs — Stroud, Daniels, Maye, Nix. Almost all of those comparisons made Bears fans feel fairly sheepish at first but they were mostly premature. The Daniels, Stroud and Nix comparisons don’t feel so lopsided suddenly

But like. Most of his traditional passing numbers are above average. Just not completion percentage. He’s operating an effective offense. He’s reading defenses and throwing with anticipation. He’s mostly caring for the ball. He’s not taking sacks. That’s all good stuff

I think Caleb feels more frustrating to watch than the numbers bear out. You watch him miss some layups, fail to get to the checkdown which makes things feel bad but he’s making some really excellent throws with some regularity and the clutch factor is higher than anything we’ve seen in Chicago
