We have been adopted by Lilikoi - a 2 month old kitten (calico) and Jane (gray tabby) who is a month older. They were in the same room at the shelter, not bonded or anything, and now they are best friends. They are hilarious and sweet and make things more bearable.

The moose is loose and the zoos lose.

I had to write that down immediately because I was trying to think of a way to get students to remember when to use and to stop using loose for both. Which happened all the time. In their university work.

It's a series of books, and they covered the first 2 this season. I don't know if they've said which of the 4 remaining will be seasons 2 and 3. I'd be surprised if they didn't do Shane/Ilya's second book.

Theodora Dorno (named for Theodor Adorno) was my best buddy and constant companion for 18 years and we're going to miss her like mad. The year has nowhere to go but up from here.

We were gerrymandered out of 45 (right down the middle of our street). While I'm grateful not to be in his ward anymore, every time I see anything about or from him, it still frosts my ass that he somehow got another term.

But we had a nice thing going.

Seeing television after so many years of just streaming can be surreal, especially daytime television.

4) I watched fucking Eddington for you. Watch this.

This has been such a horrifying year, which in my mind makes it completely ok for me to bully my friends into watching Heated Rivalry. How I sell it to different people (70% success rate, combined):

1) There are beautiful young men with hockey butts and crazy sexual chemistry. Watch it.

The book series gets further into the homophobia in the league (and league leadership) later on, so maybe also in future seasons of the show.

There are a ton of books like it (hockey is big in romance novels and I haven't figured out why) of all gender combos and relationship structures, but this adaptation is done particularly well. If you like romance/love stories, you might enjoy it. It comes in hot and develops with the characters.

Or maybe a couple of Love Boat episodes smooshed together.

I feel like maybe we should lay some blame on Robert Altman for that formula (i.e. Short Cuts).
