I will never forget watching βThreadsβ as an undergraduate. It bothered me for months, but ultimately motivated me to get into the nonpro field. I now show it to my students as an extra curricular activity in my WMD class with heavy disclaimers. It still rocks world views.

A lot of fine DOS colleagues have just lost their jobs. I want to thank them for their service to the U.S. and to the world for helping to make us safer. Their work with the USG may be over, but their legacy will endure. 2/2

Trumpβs war on public employees is bad for all of us.
New, from me @theatlantic.com:
*No, the federal government is not too big

βI was in a mission meeting last week where the mission director said, βWe have lost contact with Washington. We are on our own.β I can tell you, in my entire career in government, have never seen such a thing. Not during Covid, not during crisis, not during civil war. Never.β
