I’ve got another trip down to south Louisiana this weekend. I already have soo much footage from the last one and my camping trip to edit. Idk how some of y’all get your videos out consistently. I opened DaVinci yesterday and just stared at it, gave up, and played Final Fantasy Tactics instead.

I gotta find another ADV Dad™️ that lives near me to go on rides with. I don’t mind doing most everything solo but something like a BDR definitely seems like it be better done with friends. Even an easier one like this.

What video game do you consider perfect?

Depending on how I feel in the morning will probably determine if I ever go camping anywhere more remote.

I haven’t been camping in 20 years so this was kinda a test run. There’s lots of amenities here, bathrooms and showers, and there’s water and powers at most of the sites. I picked one that didn’t though because wanted to see how I’d do without. So far so good.

It’s been rly quiet since sundown. I haven’t heard a peep from the only family in the campground. I was worried when I saw how close our campsites were but they’ve been pretty good neighbors.

An old historic one screen theater with a stage reopened this summer in my city and they did a midnight Rocky Horror Shadow Cast last night. I’m so bummed I missed it but I’m in my in bed by 10pm era.

I drive through that Forrest a few times a year because it’s the most direct route between my current city and my hometown. I wish I’d made more of a point to stop and enjoy it more often. I’m working up to doing an overnight backpacking trip there though!

Yeah our national parks are probably one of the best things our government has ever done. So naturally the current administration is tearing it apart. I haven’t taken enough advantage of our public lands but I’m trying to change that.

The car driver just sat there staring at me till I waved them off. I can’t understand what she was thinking. I guess she saw me too late, panicked, and hit the breaks. If she’d had just kept going all I would have had to do is slow down a bit and swerve.

A car pulled out in front of me and stopped during my commute yesterday. First time I’ve had to emergency brake since I’ve been riding again. And of course, my camera wasn’t on. Slid my rear tire out a little bit but stayed in control! I was so proud of myself.

Unfortunately the station was closed. But now I have a bunch of paper maps of the trails out here!

Oh man, I wish I’d thought about that! I’m right by a ranger station and I bet they’d have something.

Changed my socks but I know they’re gonna just get soaked though as soon as I put my boots back on lol. I rly need to get some waterproof riding boots.

Pretty great spot to take a break on my return trip. It’s been raining up till now and I had to do a little roadside repair. My front fairing was shaking real bad. Some bolts were loose, glad I noticed before they worked themselves all the way out. #motosky

I couldn’t finish all of it but it was so good!

Here today

I didn’t think to document how I secured my bike in the truck but here’s a snap of everything all loaded up. Everything went pretty well yesterday despite a random rainstorm. Got it all unloaded this afternoon, had a great visit with my dad, and grabbed dinner with my hometown besties.

Cool, high chance of rain on the day I’m riding back in both cities. I rly need to stop thinking so negatively about all of this but everything is making that difficult rn lol.

I’ve got an entire day with no other obligations for the 4 hour return trip. I’m gonna make the best of it rain or shine.

I think I’ve reached six months of only owing a motorcycle for transportation. Still don’t regret it.
