Screenshot from Irish Times article: "The researchers said the high volume of rain that fell in the seven days up to and including Storm Chandra turned the heavy but β€œnot particularly remarkable” rainfall into a β€œdevastating” flood event.

They found the magnitude of the rainfall over the full week was 9 per cent greater than it would have been in the cooler Earth that existed before climate change.

β€œWe would have expected similar seven-day rainfall to happen once in every 150 years,” they said."

Beef supply is struggling with cattle weight down as farmers bring to slaughter earlier because of costs/weather and total numbers also down. Retailers bidding up to secure supply. AHDB has some good cross sector commentary.

Perhaps the triple lock on pensions should be swapped for a GDP linkage then pensioners wouldn’t object to new housing. It makes as much sense as what the Business Sec is proposing.

Most likely, although a big chunk of that is Donegal being Donegal. Most of the rule changes would be done away with if a shot clock and/or no β€œback court” passes was brought in. I think though to win the AI teams need to go for it and those who don’t will eventually change.

There’s a number of things not to like about the new rules, the ability for teams to get back on the scoreboard with 2pts though has changed the mindset and teams will go for it from a distance back. Fair play to them.
