That makes sense, keep trying to do the same myself but earbuds have been tough.

Having a pair without the chip I didn’t find it annoying at all, I do find it somewhat more convenient when they have it if that makes sense though.

I tried the Sony’s and a few others. In the end my favorites have been the Beats Fit Pro. They actually stay in my ears (the Sony’s didn’t), sound great and have Apple’s chip which is kinda handy if you’re connecting to an iPhone (though they’ll connect to anything).

I’m a big fan of Wipr for Safari for a number of reasons, but I’m really glad to see this as well.

During the 2024 campaign Trump literally just said that if he wins they will "fix it so Republicans will never have to vote again" and the press was like "huh I wonder what he means by that, doesn't seem like something we should follow up on"

Exclusive: Google is indexing ChatGPT conversations, potentially exposing sensitive user data Thousands of shared ChatGPT chats are now appearing in Google search results.

Well this is bad. Google is indexing ChatGPT conversations exposing sensitive user data

I tried a few quick searches. I found someone's chat where I can see their api key

I found some building their resume. Their name, email and phone numbers are exposed.

As vibe-coded apps and self-creating websites become the norm, luxe companies will pay large dollars for bespoke, hand-crafted HTML and CSS.

The message was prompted by me building a WordPress block this past week (it's a PoC, I no longer work for a WordPress company at all) and... genuinely liking the process.

When I jumped to an official management title it was because I was mostly already there. What if I could go back and allowed to be an IC instead of a manager?

26.07.2025 14:28 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Don't get me wrong, it was the role that was needed. I just genuinely wonder if I would enjoy going back to an IC role if such a role was more rewarding.

I often wonder what it would be like to go back to an IC role where I could actually code. I haven't had a real IC role (the 2 months of the title before I left WPE didn't include code work) since 2021 and the last few included such features as 32 hours of meetings a week and other fun stuff.

On the other hand.... Mastodon clients are FAR superior to using Bluesky (thanks, Ivory) and the generally positive posts on my feed (arts, pets, etc) leave me feeling far more positive after looking through my timeline.

Step away from the FOSS-for-the-sake-of-FOSS mentality even for a second though and my replies will look like the worst of Twitter. That part is so frustrating.

I confess that, while I really do like the Fediverse and Mastodon, I self-censor there as much as I did on Twitter due to the ridiculous replies anything I say get. On the other hand, though, with a small group of good folks I've found the conversations far better than here or Twitter ever was.

Last fall I switched to a magsafe wallet from my traditional wallet after seeing how handy it was for Joy. The 1st was too small (3 cards) after I started having to keep my work card with me so I upgraded to a model with Find My and, surprisingly, I haven't looked back. It's been so convenient!

When the enormity of the world's horrors makes you feel helpless, narrow your focus. Find one stranger and scold them for posting a recipe while kids are dying. Call out a new mom for not adding alt text to a baby photo. Critique a selfie. Correct a joke. Show people you care more than them.

The governing party of the United States is shutting down the federal government to cover-up evidence the president sexually abused children so he can continue trying to implement dictatorship.

That's just a true statement about the world!

And one final thought: Ozzy going out after giving an emotional final performance that raised a ton of money for charity is more spiritually uplifting and did more genuine good than anything any televangelist and religious grifter who railed against him ever did combined.

I finally donated to PBS this past weekend. Part of that gives access to their paid streaming service and, for the first time since Ted Lasso. I’ve actually found myself watching a couple of shows on it.

The Trump regime is arresting protesters now. This was the plan all along | Will Bunch Federal felony charges against nine ICE protesters in Spokane reveal how Trump's secret police are expanding their web.
