I know we live in the most disingenuous of times, but those complaining about us scoring so many from set pieces seem to conveniently overlook how it is directly related to how teams set up against us *precisely because they'd get whooped otherwise* (see e.g. games of recent years against PSV). Exactly, because if you overlook how the threshold for VAR intervention (“clear and obvious”) wasn’t met then you’re essentially saying I acquiesce to the game being re-refereed. And that’s the point at which the game really is doomed.

Hard disagree on penalty, the point is not whether it was a foul or not but whether it was a clear and obvious error - the very clearly stated threshold for VAR intervention week after week by Webb. If it takes the best part of five minutes, multiple angles, and numerous slow-mo replays to decide...

The nub of it is in your final paragraph: in the almost 200-person group chat, large majority seem(ed) to believe we were/are getting our own Haaland (or close enough). The more realistic / less disappointing expectation is we've got ourselves a solid rotation option for Kai with different skillset.
