Also using "therapy speak" can also be quite damaging if not done in a clinical way. There is a great deal of practice/study/experience that makes therapy speak effective, and just repeating it can be annoying at best and maliciously harmful at worst.

That interesting thing about non-clinicians/lay-people using "therapy speak" is that they only use it for personal gain,often incorrectly.

A good therapist is using those affirmations/validations to build rapport so that it can be used to help the patient grow, which often requires challenging them
