It's so frustrating--so much of what they claim to want would be *helped* by having more housing. Want to "help people stay rooted long term"? Have more diverse housing stock in the neighborhood so seniors can downsize! Want to "build fire safety and resilience?" GROW YOUR TAX BASE!

Ugh. I had a brief conversation with one of those folks and gave them an EARFUL. And then had the pleasure of pointing to the neighbor's two giant ADUs looming over my back yard and saying THOSE ARE GOOD ACTUALLY.

(I was about to put on my "Viviendas Para Todes" Tshirt and head over to the event, before I saw that it was last week....)

I live in this neighborhood! I *WANT* more housing near me! More people on the street! More support for local business & community spaces! More riders for local transit! More kids! THAT's what makes a vibrant community, not some redlined fantasy frozen in amber.

Roads are pretty slippery today--be careful!

Mine is a class 1 (no throttle), so I'm always pedaling; the e-assist compensates for the weight of the bike & my gear. I turn it down when I want the workout, up when it's hot or I'm tired. On net I'm definitely getting more exercise compared to my regular bike because I ride it 50x more.

I ride North Park to Logan Hts/E village every day. Strongly recommend an ebike if you can swing it--the climb out of downtown can be a drag at the end of the day, plus makes it easier to ride in work clothes. I splurged on a Gazelle, but the other options suggested here are good and less spendy.

It's when the cab of a semi truck (the tractor) and the trailer (the big box it's pulling) end up facing in different directions so the truck is bent, like a pocketknife that's only partially unfolded. (A jackknife is a folding clasp knife; a Swiss army knife could be considered a small jackknife.)

I ride this street every day. I am 100% certain the lane was painted not for the benefit of cyclists but to prevent homeless people from camping or parking on the overpass.

They're probably trying to throw me off my guard!

In the course of a 3-mile bike commute this morning:

1. Multiple drivers waited patiently behind someone turning left and did NOT try to get around by encroaching on the bike lane.

2. Driver refrained from right-hooking me.

3. Driver correctly observed 4-way stop precedence.

This is uncanny...
