I had a dream about that last night, actually. In the dream I knew she was about to pass away, but she was awake and chatting to me, and I was trying to keep the conversation light but I was wrapping her up in my arms and holding her.

Oof. I kind of get someone not wanting to be a burden or to traumatise their kids, but it really should've been your choice. That's so hard. I spent a lot of time with mom while she was dying and it still didn't feel like enough. I wished I could've crawled into her bed and held her the whole time.
