The biggest travesty of being a NICU nurse is that I no longer have access to adult sized warm blankets. They’re tiny receiving blankets and the warmer is at half the temperature 🥲🥲🥲

I got to make my first NICU name sign this shift. What an honor ❤️

A lot of concerned brow furrows and some verbal: “it’s okay, you’re safe now”. Bless them all.

The absolute terror in the eyes of the NICU nurses I met today when I disclosed that I come from an adult ICU background was very adorable.

I keep wondering if I’ve made a huge mistake which I know is normal but…

A fiery orange sunrise over Mt. Hood

Definitely going to miss this view, but excited for my next adventure in the NICU where I will never again have to spend 12 consecutive hours reminding the same patient that they do, in fact, have a catheter and can pee without crawling out of bed over and over and over again.
