They are indeed. But in this case the stuff of fiction that would make even Enid Blyton or JK Rowling consider it far-fetched!

08.12.2025 19:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There was an impossibly unfactual rumour as kids that there was an ancient secret passage from the Stone Cross (between Gresham/Aylmerton) to Gresham Castle. All rubbish of course - itβs a distance of two miles
08.12.2025 19:15 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It wasnβt when I was a kid. Thereβs a massive field around it (all private land) and the closest building was the former village pub (long since closed). It was quite a stretched-out village though so someone may have βfilled in the gapsβ with homes since we lived there.
08.12.2025 07:37 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Me and a mate tried to cross the moat when we were around 11. Got waist deep in mud. Plus deciduous trees tend to be protected over here.
08.12.2025 03:49 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0UK is more densely populated than the USA and decent arable land is in high demand.
Plus this castle has minor significance in the grand scheme of things - impossible to get to without getting waist deep in mud (me and a friend tried, age 11). It was plundered for building materials centuries ago!
I suspect a lot of the stones ended up in local farmhouses - flint was the main building material in that part of Norfolk. Our 17C cottage had walls 18β wide stuffed full of flint.
08.12.2025 03:37 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good question - from what I remember, just stones. This is going back 30+ years, and we werenβt supposed to be there π
08.12.2025 03:34 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mind you, I was 11 when me and my mate attempted it.
07.12.2025 22:34 β π 24 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs a bugger to get to. Mud up to your waist to get across, and bugger all to see. LiDar image definitely better than the real thing.
07.12.2025 22:25 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I have so many questions.
For example, what pet is going to let its owner stab it with an injection pen a second time?
Just feed them properly and give them decent walks

Considering shirts still require ironing as soon as they come out of the packet, there is absolutely no need for the excess packing clips and plastic strips and paper. Absolute waste of time

01.12.2025 22:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Blimey, our old flatcoat retriever used to grab like 3 toys in keep them in her mouth for an entire 5 mile walk. We called her Three Toy Joy.
01.12.2025 22:06 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0True, yet the onus is still on the individual to own their response and own their emotional regulation. If I blamed my complex PTSD for every instance of emotional dysregulation, Iβd never move forward. I canβt expect everyone to make allowances for me, and therefore I have to own my behaviour.

25.11.2025 00:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you work in management and basically your entire job is to make presentations, perhaps you should get an absolute fucking minimum set of skills to author them succinctly and make them look good, rather than going "hey is anyone here good at Powerpoint" right before the meeting

19.11.2025 20:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That comes down to the ICB for your area then - not the surgery! For a response Iβd write to your MP and ask them to contact the ICB on your behalf.
Can you not get test results via the NHS app? I use that all the time - saves me a call/appointmrnt
My surgery accepts e-consults an hour before the phone lines open, which helps - but itβs still not great on weekends etc.
Itβs not an emergency service - thatβs what UTC, A&E and 111 are for etc.
I got an emergency prescription through 111 / my chemist last weekend. Works well.
I asked about this a few years ago and the stock answer is that they have a limit on the number of e-consults they can process in a working day. Itβs not uncommon for it to be switched off early afternoon either when theyβve reached their limit.
