How do we improve things against such negative and powerful forces?

Our daily lives are being increasingly impacted. What we breathe, where we can go, what parts of nature are alive and well. And what is our government doing? Attacking our climate. Uranium, fracking, clear cutting, no coastal protection.

I’m experiencing a lot of climate grief this summer. Our province and city continues to attack active transportation- something that has been shown time and time again to have such a positive impact on communities, health, congestion, pollution…

Wish I was back in the Magdalen Islands where the air was clear, the shoulders were massive, and drivers respectful. Oh, and I could go into the woods.

People are losing their shit about woods bans. Wait til they hear the woods won’t exist at all in a decade or so.

Never forget, when you’re being asked to prove that safe bike-lanes or pedestrian crossings across currently unsafe conditions are ‘needed,’ it's hard to justify a bridge by the number of people swimming across a raging river.

Helsinki hasn't had a traffic fatality in a year: "Helsinki's current traffic safety strategy, covering 2022–2026, is nearing completion. It has focused on improving safety for children, youth, pedestrians and cyclists with safer crosswalks and smarter intersection design."

HUGE legal victory: @cycletoronto.bsky.social has won its Charter challenge of the Ford government's legislation requiring removal of Toronto bike lanes! Justice Schabas ruled that the law puts cyclists at increased risk of harm and death which engages the right to life and security of the person.
