We both just slipped on ice on the sidewalk on our dog walk. (We're ok!) I fell first. @barcodetontos.wanderingthe.land said "Oh no! Wait a minute," and was coming to help. Next thing, he was down next to me. We both just laid there trying to figure out how to get up while Georgia licked my face. 😂

A good deal of the days between Nov-March, I'm freezing even indoors, especially my fingers and the tip of my nose. I wear slippers and sweaters- even an Andean poncho that is definitely meant for outdoors. But no, I can't justify turning up the heat. Wish I had a tiny woodstove in my home office.

Cut down our Christmas tree in the snow today. Spent the afternoon decorating it. Pretty perfect day, to be honest. ❄️🎄

Verdict on the apple pie is that it was very good. Grandma was right about Northern Spy apples, and the vintage pie plate made a better cooked bottom crust. Love the flakiness of half butter, half Crisco crust but the flavor could be a little richer... I'll try again next year.

The pie is in the oven! I'm trying out my vintage Table Talk Pie Company pie plate this year. I also used the crust I swear by (half butter, half Crisco) and the type of apples my grandma swore by (Northern Spy). So here's hoping this is the best pie ever!

I haven't been in a long time. It would be fun to check it out again.
