Ok here’s the thing. This is NOT a village. This is a nuclear family. By being like “we only need each other!” you’re not being cute, you’re enforcing the idea that women shouldn’t need any support outside of their own home, and if they do they’re failing. I hate this.

This is why, last year, I had a weird little section in my campaign’s policy platform where I specified that there is a group out there that does NOT want what everyone else does - a group whose primary political commitment is causing harm and suffering for their own amusement.

You won’t believe how many batteries you’ll need once you have children. For years I used 4 maybe 6 batteries a year and now I’m at Costco buying a pack of AAs every 6 months.

A black vase contains stems of Australian banksia pods, with dark stiff lobes and bristles, and thin green serrated leaves. The pods and leaves appear to writhe with dark shadows and starkly illuminated surfaces.

Sometimes I see parents saying stuff like “I don’t allow my children to eat bananas because they have too much sugar” and I just think. How did you arrive here. What made you like this

Kids are so funny and different. My two-year-old has developed no emotional attachment to any of her toys—to the point where her dad is almost offended that we can seamlessly swap out her teddy bear for a bunny and she’s like “whatever”

Can’t wait for August when I’m going to make an infographic that says “holding space for the mothers of human children who don’t have a dog today.” People would come for my NECK!!!!

People are arguing that you should be able to fit 3 car seats in the back of most cars, which sounds great! But then I’m left wondering: how the F would you be able to reach the center one and strap the kid in? Like, the logistics don’t seem to work?

My husband asked my kids to say why I’m a good mom and my 2yo said “you go down the slide” and honestly that might be the nicest thing anyone’s ever said about me. I do go down the slide. 😭

My dad turned down tickets to a BULLETS game when he was chief of staff of the senate foreign relations committee!
And this guy accepts A PLANE?

Moms are great. Most moms I meet are working so hard with so little acknowledgment. Moms today are expected to do so much more, and are judged for anything and everything. They are blamed for so much while thanked for so little. We love, thank, and respect moms under this roof.

I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.

Nice restaurants love to have a dessert called like “Milk and Cereal” or “Donuts and Coffee” and it’s their little take on what if those things cost nineteen dollars.

humans are not designed for the amount of feedback being a public figure on social media provides. Whether it's praise or criticism, receiving an avalanche of nonstop attention is profoundly corrosive to your brain.

We talk a lot about social media radicalizing the population but it's been far more efficient at radicalizing public figures.
