Wages for low and middle class are far too low as well, in addition to rent being too high.

As the first phase of this deal unfolds, we continue to call for this to be a permanent ceasefire and for an end to the illegal occupation. We won't stop until liberation is reached.

We know this ceasefire deal is not a permanent or guaranteed end to Israel’s occupation. Israel has violated ceasefire deals before, and this has not stopped them from carrying out attacks in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

But countries like Canada remain complicit in this genocide and in Israel’s illegal occupation. A ceasefire does not end the need for swift action and accountability. Canada still needs to close the loopholes that allow arms to flow to Israel and impose sanctions in response to their war crimes.

Palestinians have been fighting for an end to the genocide, along with millions of people around the world, demanding justice and pressuring world leaders since the start of Israel’s genocidal onslaught in 2023.

The forced starvation, displacement, and mass destruction of all infrastructure has left a long road towards rebuilding. We have witnessed thousands of children being killed and entire family lines erased. Israel must be brought to justice for the war crimes they have committed.

This is a major step, but we have been here before, and we cannot ignore the horror and devastation that Israel has caused in Gaza in the past 2 years.

While the death toll being claimed is over 67,000 people, many reports have estimated the numbers to be in the hundreds of thousands.
