Came here to say this. Republicans can go on news shows and repeatedly tell a bald-faced lie like this one and receive no pushback at all. Disgraceful. The corporate legacy media needs to go. They haven't just failed us; they are complicit.

If today’s New York Times editors had been working in London in 1888, they would’ve said Jack the Ripper was “testing societal norms“ and “straining the bounds of propriety.”

There is no strategy to this. None. He's obsessed with tariffs purely because it makes him feel powerful. Hallmark traits of malignant narcissism.

As usual, concocting his own imaginary reality to sustain his narcissistic delusion of the grandiose idealized self.

Except they still got it wrong. It’s not a “law”; a law is passed by Congress and signed by the president. It’s in the Constitution which makes it not just a law but a fundamental right — hence birthRIGHT citizenship.

When the history books are written on this era, one of the defining themes will be how our institutions didn't just fail us; they were active participants in our demise as a country, and the corporate media is a veritable case study on this point.

If Jeff Bezos can afford to rent Venice for a $50 million wedding, he can afford to pay his fair share in taxes.

This is why reporters wanted him to win. They don’t mind all the death, destruction, and suffering as long as they get to ask him questions (that they then don’t follow up on)

He looks awful. Tired, haggard. The orange paint on his face simply isn't doing its job.

The only conclusion one can draw from this is that Fox News finds its lies to be far, far more profitable than $787M or whatever amount they end up needing to fork over for any present or future defamation suits.

To say that this Supreme Court is corrupt and illegitimate (which it is) is to not even scratch the surface of its depravity. Truly a scourge on this nation's history.

The Ku Klux Klan Acts (passed in 1870 & 1871 to protect 14th amend rights) were particularly focused on masked gunmen who violated the civil rights of Black people. We should remember this history when masked law enforcement ofcrs are deployed in our communities.

Gosh. If only there were an historical analogue we could study to learn about the horrors of rounding people up without due process and sending them to torture camps in other countries.

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida.

If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.

He was humiliated last weekend. This weekend he bombed someone.

My guess is there is a relationship between those two events.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.

1. Every accusation is a confession. 2. To watch this clip from 2012 (or whenever it is) is to bear witness to his decline over the past decade. His voice and physical appearance are just much more frail and haggard now.
