I've seen people claim that each 10 points is a standard deviation from the mean of 50. I mean you could certainly structure things that way if you want, but it's unclear to me if that's how people usually do it. If so, then there should probably only be one or two at '80' at any one time.

They do measure things and things of importance. But turning it into some sort of way to rank humans is stupid and can only lead to misery.

I got a 1290 (on the older test) and my lapses in judgment back in those days were legendary. Innate analytical ability is extremely valuable, but it's also a somewhat narrow skillset. Being "smart" doesn't really make you "better."

I have a built in bias toward debut records, so in their case I'm not sure whether that means "13 Songs" or the S/T EP. In either case, my bias is so bad my favorite song is Waiting Room which is the first rack on the first EP. I was big into Minor Threat when the debut came out (yes I'm old.)
