A rare red Swingline stapler. It formerly belonged to Major General Potter Ash, commander of the United States Army Military Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca. One day it up and disappeared. Every subsequent stapler Ash’s aides requisitioned likewise disappeared within days. Where did they go? Where does anything go when it disappears? Into the Hollow.

This happened to me once! Four cases on the same day that were all a variation on the same legal issue. The major curveball was that this appellate court (Illinois) changed panels of judges for each argument, so I had to catch up a new judge or two with each argument.

Another flyer has appeared! Someone in Chicago is making protest flyers that mimic the design of handbills that contractors put on people’s garages. Many contractors are undocumented so they will see these. This showed up on my block today. I haven’t had time to see if it has been posted more widely

This is so good.

Brick cottage with stone quoins, stone window trim, and stone steps and railings. There is a small round turret at the corner of the second floor with a conical roof. The windows on the turret are protected by wooden awnings that are a bit too big and sort of comical. There is a creepy oval shaped window in the side of the concrete/stone? steps that opens on to who-knows-what. There is also another random oval window in the first floor brick wall. The whole thing screams fairy tale.
