We were sitting in the stands fairly close to the pitch. This is so unlike Palace fans and others on the train home also said they didn’t hear the whistle. Was the whistle ‘ending it early’ actually the one to start?

There was confusion too as we didn’t hear the ref’s whistle to begin the minute silence. Where I was sitting we observed the silence assuming it had begun and were horrified at the noise from the back but I don’t think the ref had blown his whistle at that point.

No I didn’t. I was at Wembley and so recorded MOTD which I love rewatching. I’m pretty sure BBC Sounds will have taken the Radio London coverage down but I will check. Thank you.

I rewatched it again yesterday. I love it when we break for Ebs’ goal seconds after the commentator points out that we can’t soak up this pressure for much longer. And the last 2 mins of extra time when the camera pans to the supporters. Years and years of disappointment leading up to this moment.
