Came in here to say this. I've had several recent examples when my graduating seniors attended visit days, learned unfavorable things about their prospective advisor, and chose a different program. Current grad students are surprisingly candid with visitors!

Turns out these squiggle orbs are reconfigurable. You can rotate any tile in place or swap it with a tile of the same shape.

You might not guess from this interaction with @oddletters.bsky.social that I actually do a fair amount of 3D printing. Also, to be fair, it feels a lot less like a garbage technology when you move away from consumer-grade printing to commercial/industrial services.
