Has your article been pulled from a DOD website or journal because of an executive order about how diversity is bad?

I’d love to host it on my site so that the information is still out there

Email me at angrystaffofficer@gmail.com and we can make it happen

Would it be possible for a future admin (assuming they have the support of the courts) to employ eminent domain on these properties?

one thing I've become very convinced of is the need for the civil service to do waaayyyy more propaganda. like you should know about how NOAA makes the weather app on your phone work. you should know that Uncle Sam runs GPS. you should know how impressive the US census data collection effort is, etc

As my friend @drshepherd2013.bsky.social says, asking why we need a National Weather Service when we have apps and the Weather Channel is like asking why we need potato farmers when we can buy fries at McDonalds.

ProPublica looked into science grants that Ted Cruz's team flagged as "radical" and "neo-Marxist" and, uh.

This would be good comedy if it didn't matter so much www.propublica.org/article/ted-...

We Are All Less Safe Today, as NOAA Gets Hit With Mass Firings Splinter is your home for news and opinions that challenge power in our political and economic system that's becoming more unhinged each and every day.

NOAA returns/produces so much more money to the American economy than it costs, no stories about any of this should allow them the absolutely bullshit "savings" framing

We're not done yet | 18F

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

It's understandable but still selfish and cowardly. They're the nation's elected representatives. They empowered this man, and Musk by extension. If they want to ensure their safety and those close to then they're going to have to band together and stand up to him.

One of the most frustrating things about media coverage of fragmented politics is the inability of journalists/editors/producers to ever accommodate more than one narrative about a complex result.

And the narrative they always seem to favour, if available, is "why is the radical right growing?"
