The Aurora was lovely last night. I fell asleep before it got really spectacular, but still captured this from my front yard. You could see the light with your naked eye, but the color really came through only on camera. In the fall, you could see the color dancing. I hope to see that again.

I love living on the St. Lawrence river in the thousand islands. Took advantage by pretending to be a tourist tonight, took a lovely cruise through Canadian waters on a Clayton Island Tours boat while my talented friends Mary and Dan Flanigan performed.

In the absence of bookmarks and hating the workarounds others have proposed, I use likes to flag things I might want to find again. For me, it does not necessarily signal approval.

This is my favorite, because vaca is cow in Spanish :-)

As others noted, you want an enzymatic cleaner. If you go to any pet store or big box store, there should be a variety on the shelf to choose from. Suede is tricky because making it wet can screw up the nap but you should be able to spray it on, let it dry and then gently vacuum it off.

Some things they are just smashing with a proud ignorance and extreme malice. Some they are gutting for parts that they can sell to their friends. And only their friends.

The loss of scientific expertise and funded research will impact that just all Americans, it will impact the world. I have watched a horror with what they are doing at NIH, NSF, CDC and other institutions that do so much to improve the human condition.

The turnout was amazing given the plausible and scary rumors that there was going to be a large counter protest while we walked past the house of the head of the federal deportation efforts. Thankfully the pro-ICE-deporting-children crowd was small and pathetic. But it might have been different!
