The issue isn’t free votes. It’s forcing BC’s entire right-wing spectrum into one party and expecting stability.

Proportional representation would end the need for every conservative to crowd into one tent and let them champion different ideas without heavy-handed leadership.

Fair Vote Canada board member Ryan Campbell joined CFAX Victoria to talk about BC’s electoral reform consultations.

93% of submissions called for proportional representation. The message from the public is clear: make every vote count.

I’d be curious to see a study one way or the other. People care a lot about travel time so I could see it attracting more riders even if people walk a bit farther to get to it… but it depends on the details

One additional gripe I have in Metro Vancouver is that growth didn't pay for past infrastructure. 18% of my utilities bill goes to pay debt from previous projects. So a new build pays not only for growth, but also past growth. Doesn't seem fair.

Statement from LAPS Clarifying Key Facts re: Notice of Termination  - Langley Animal Protection Society September 11, 2025 – LAPS wishes to respond to recent public assertions regarding the Township of Langley’s decision to issue a Notice of Termination to LAPS

Why can't anyone get along in Langley?! The Township isn't just clashing with the City, but it's also with their animal welfare provider, who've just been given a 30 day notice of termination. It would be funny if it wasn't going to get innocent animals euthanized www.lapsbc.ca/statement-fr...

At a quick glance though Glaswegians are choosing between ~9 candidates vs 30 for Portland.

As someone who had to spread something like 27 votes around between 120 candidates here in Vancouver, I’m sympathetic to having some reasonable requirements for ballot access to keep things manageable.
