The weakest part of the game is the structured side. Missions loop daily between 3 groups, and you get daily and weekly tasks. There's no dynamic activities that bring your lobby together, and nothing to force strangers to skate together. Since it's pre-season early access, only slightly concerned.

The story is very not there right now, and the voice acting isn't the greatest but I can cut slack there as they went out and got pro skaters to voice the City Council. When the skating and social aspects work in harmony though, it's truly something special. Never played skate for the story anyways.

skate. has been a game I have been playtesting on and off for 2 years now, and now that I can talk about it I can say this: while the structured side of the game is a bit of a mess at launch, if you're good at finding your own fun the game is top tier, especially with friends.

long story short, 2024 made me really want to surround myself with people who appreciate me as much as I appreciate them, in all aspects of life, doing things that I enjoy. I'm gonna try spending 2025 doing that.

2024 was about self-discovery, I want 2025 to be about community. I want to do more with friends online and offline, I want to re-train my brain to engage with things more instead of taking the lazy way out. I WOULD like to not be single for another year, but it's ok if it doesn't work out.

I also have done a terrible job working with my neurodivergent brain this year. I let it take over too much, the brainrot and doomscrolling has been worryingly high this year lmao. I suffer a lot from choice paralysis tbh, my brain has been taking the easiest path. I wanna stop doing that.

2024 put a lot of my life in perspective in a way that it hasn't been before. In doing that, I pushed a lot aside that I desperately want to get back. I've interacted so much less online that I feel like I've pushed online friends away, I wanna stop doing that. I miss playing games with friends.

It's also the year where the distance between family has grown in a way where I think that connection is over. I got invited to my first wedding this year.....it was a friends. This was also a year where 2 people in my family got married, wasn't invited to either. Felt like a foreigner at Christmas.
