This is quite easily the second-worst day of my adult life. It's times like these when I'm glad no one I know reads Bluesky, because things are extra bad, and despite the "only one way to go" optimism of my friends, I'm well and truly fucked. 🤣 Good chat, up the Toffees.

Btw, general note, I like us this year. Not perfect, and that injury stretch was dreadful (coincided with when I saw them live twice), but Plum was either gonna go great or poorly, and we got the best result so far. I wish we had Paige. So badly. But I like whatever brand of crazy Plum’s on.

(We were probably gonna beat the Clarkless Fever, but still. If it were a loss, I may have taken my ball and gone home.)

Bueckers annoying Carrington is my favorite buddy cop duo in the WNBA, and the fact that already-terrible Dallas traded DiJonai (even though she might win a ring) is inexplicable to me. Still salty about the lottery. Kelsey Plum’s been a great addition to the Sparks, but Paige is a star and a half.

Christ, one more. Good for Brink's recovery, aside from the hopefully she's back by 6/2?. Could use reduced minutes while easing back into things on what might be a mid team...Stevens, if healthy (nice game), and Hamby, even with a step back, gives Brink a smooth way back in. Bad news about Burrell.

PPS: Sparks live or die by Plum/Hamby. Hamby had an efficient 2x2, and I think works better when not required to be *the* scorer; Plum is complementary, insofar as she enjoys being the scorer, and what didn't work in Vegas is only one player can shoot the ball. I've seen a bad Plum game though....

Final ADHD/insomnia thought, having the WNBA put up games an hour after conclusion, *while* giving the option to completely hide spoilers on the main website, is an easy but essential game-changer. I watched the early games when the Sparks were on, woke up at dumb:00, no spoilers or commercials.

I mean, laurels where due. I was immediately in favor of the trade once we lost the Paige sweepstakes (btw, she may have been 3/10, but I liked her court vision). Obviously Paige will be quality, but we got the best we could; that said, the Mystics' young roster was pretty good tonight....

Sparks might not be excellent this year (though I could see us fighting for the 4 seed), but holy crap Kelsey Plum looks happy to be here. Wow. Yeah, it's the Valkyries, but that could be a classic fit of player and team. #WNBA

...and my ADHD has been on fire lately, which goes over OK on Facebook but I think is starting to irritate my friends. Here, absolutely no one cares, ergo, I don't care. I'm sure I'll find a good W/NBA feed at some point, but on Threads it was mostly just fans interacting, which was great.

WNBA in two days, the most wonderful time of the year. Even as a Sparks fan. I'm taking a mini-vacation in June to see them in Chicago and Indianapolis. My body is ready, my Brink jersey is flashy, her ACL looks healthy, she may have dropped the SI pics this evening coincidentally....

This is the best we could have hoped for in the transfer window, I'm honestly surprised. I've heard fine things from Southampton fans, particularly about his attitude. And it didn't leak, which is promising for how Friedkin handles things.
