Great to be back in my Alma Mater.
Great to see this out! And very fitting the last publication from my PhD is in a @microbiologysociety.org journal. Who played a significant role in supporting my EARLY early career!

Bring your samples into focus! A new version of the #Cellpose cell boundary mapping tool, developed at @hhmijanelia.bsky.social by @computingnature.bsky.social and @marius10p.bsky.social, now works on less-than-perfect microscopy images that are noisy, blurry, or undersampled.

The images show proExM of cell lines co-expressing epitope-tagged versions of NUP76 (top; magenta), NUP149 (middle; magenta), or NUP140 (bottom; magenta) in combination with NUP110 (green). Images were deconvolved (20 iterations for NUP149 and NUP76; 60 iterations for NUP140) and single planes of the nuclei are shown.
How is transport directionality achieved through the #trypanosome nuclear pore complex? The current model is symmetrical, but this study reveals that the trypanosome #NuclearPore has an asymmetrical architecture, with conserved hubs that direct mRNA transport 🧪 @plosbiology.org plos.io/3Q36QV2
