We had three birthdays in four days at my four person office this week, so I baked half of a cake to bring in.

So real, and something that's led me to leave 2 jobs I otherwise liked. Among other issues, it takes nothing to convince a manager they know the exact right thing, but mountains of evidence and weeks of arguing and presentations to convince them that all the experts they pay *might* know better.

These are the people I always try to hire, and who I strive to be on a team (though maybe I have a bit of an ego). Fostering an environment of kindness where people feel comfortable asking questions means we all learn more and do better.

It's been a year since I left my job at Roll20, and while I definitely miss my team, there's so much more about working there that I'm happy to have left behind.

Quitting a job with no safety net or backup plan was scary, but there hasn't been a single moment that I've regretted that decision.

My new claim to fame is that I've played Pathfinder with the person in the first gif when you search himbo.
