As soon as Trump mentioned Vance would oversee an anti-fraud task force, I knew it would mean kicking people off healthcare, food assistance, and possibly disability payments.

I've been looking for an update on Aliya Rahman, a disabled woman from Minnesota who was violently arrested by ICE in Jan.
She was apparently removed from the State of the Union last night for standing, then arrested and hospitalized. Ilhan Omar says she's โback and safe.โ
It's not the crime, it's the conspiracy.
There are 53 pages missing about Trump from the Epstein files. They are the accounts of four FBI interviews.
The DOJ, AG, Deputy AG, and FBI are caught in an illegal conspiracy to withhold those pages.
The underlying crime, if true (the FBI certainly found this victim credible!), is far worse than Watergate. The consequences should be far more devastating. But it's Trump, who dodges consequences better than anyone...
25.02.2026 19:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Weโve got the hottest economy in the world right now, but itโs also a shambles because of Sleepy Joe, who was both a drooling senile incompetent and an unrivaled international mastermind, look

If Dems had a coordinated plan to yell stuff at him every 5 minutes and get escorted out one by one, they'd have *easily* baited him into saying something super racist/sexist etc.
Instead, he stuck to the script and looked about as normal as Trump can manage. And most Dems sat politely, as usual.
It's breaking throughโwhether it'll be a turning point, I don't know. I'd personally define 'turning point' as:
(1) justice for Epstein survivors (2) MAGA breaking with Trump in a big way
I really hope something comes of it, but we've been let down so many times before.
I'm glad but also disappointed. I'm hoping Alan Garber emails us soon to explain why he didn't call for him to be fired. Does he retain borrowing privileges at Widener? Draw a hefty emeritus pension? Of course.
Soโold professor retires voluntarily... where's the actual punishment?
New element of this story from CNN:
"Several Epstein victims have said that theyโve scoured the DOJโs website in recent weeks for files documenting their own interviews with the FBI โ only to come up empty handed."
One victim says the DOJ is "gaslighting the entire country.โ
Independent journalist Roger Sollenberger first reported it, then NPR picked it up and found 50 pgs were missing, then MSNOW independently verified it and now NYT and CNN.
I'm glad to see reporters are continuing to look into this.
This story's not going away!
I call these "bubble breakthroughs" because they pierce our fractured media environment. Stuff even MAGA doesn't like: the Qatari jet, Trump's Rob Reiner comments, the lies about Good's/Pretti's murders, the Obamas video, etc.
This is the most damning one by far...
There's historical precedent of people being too polite and trusting in government, or in thinking their own place as collaborators made them safe... until it very much did not. But I guess they don't bother reading much history
25.02.2026 06:20 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And so typical. Much of corporate media has failed to meet this moment. The sane-washing was once again on full display tonight after the SOTU...
25.02.2026 06:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Who is the winnable voter who will be mad at the Dems for choosing not to participate in this obscene display? What is the cost these people fear?

They couldn't even be bothered to wear a "Release the Files" pin like some Dems or... do anything at all but politely show up for Trump.
really remarkable how trump seems to relish sharing this lurid stories about the terrible pain people have experienced, and he does it exclusively to score some partisan points

24.02.2026 18:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I hope it breaks through the cluttered news cycle; it would be a huge story in normal times.
I watch ABC evening news not to be informed but to gauge what non-political Americans are exposed to, and a lot of important stories don't get reported out to casual news viewers.
I saw Rachel's reporting on this last night and local leaders seem well prepared to stay in this fight if DHS returns to this later, even chaining themselves to the property if necessary.
It's comforting to see people pushing back against warehousing humans in concentration camps!
A little good news! ๐ฐ
24.02.2026 17:43 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The thing about the Trump era is, some conspiracies are true! The DOJ is apparently engaged in an Epstein files cover-up, there's documented corruption by Trump and his cabinet, etc. We should still insist on evidence-based claimsโbut there's a LOT of evidence of conspiracies. It's surreal, right?
24.02.2026 18:10 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The DOJ deleted FBI interviews and other documentation alleging "Trump sexually abused a minor" from the Epstein files (graphic description).

It's sickening. In the most visceral way, I have such a strong reaction to thisโit's such a nightmare to live under this cruel, corrupt, dangerously stupid man who constantly trashes our allies. My best friend's Canadian and I'm always texting with apologies... it'll never be enough.
24.02.2026 06:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh very true! I was thinking of federal judges, not Supreme Court Justicesโwe've seen many federal judges push back lately (not as "rogue" judges obviously but simply by adhering to legal standards). You're right though, Trump can always count on Thomas and Alito.
